Tracks Track 1: Automated Agent Engineering

Build a system that can design, test, and improve specialized agents for tasks it has never seen before. Strong projects should analyze failures and improve their prompts, tools, memory, or orchestration while demonstrating measurable gains in accuracy, reliability, cost, or speed.

Track 2: Autonomous Office of the CFO

Build an agent that automates a real accounting, finance, or treasury workflow end to end. Projects should handle exceptions and human review. Example workflows include reconciliation, invoice processing, forecasting, cash reporting, closing the books, and gathering audit support.

AO Requirement

Every participant must use AO to build the project from start to finish. The final demo must show how AO was used and the AO sessions involved. Projects started before the hackathon or projects without meaningful AO usage will be disqualified.

Opportunities and Support
  • Top participants will be considered for internship opportunities with Maximor and AO. Their teams will be present in the Discord throughout the hackathon.
  • Dodo Payments can fast-track same-day verification for participants integrating its platform.
  • TensorMux is providing inference support.
  • Neatlogs can be used to trace, debug, inspect, and improve agent runs.
  • AI Grants India is providing GPU or voice credits to selected projects.

Requirements

What to Build

Choose one of the two official tracks and build a working autonomous agent system during the hackathon.

  • Track 1: Automated Agent Engineering - Build a system that can design, test, evaluate, and improve specialized agents.
  • Track 2: Autonomous Office of the CFO - Automate a real accounting, finance, or treasury workflow end to end, including exceptions and human review.
What to Submit

Every submission must include:

  • The selected track
  • A clear description of the problem and target users
  • A working project built during the hackathon
  • A GitHub repository containing the project code and setup instructions
  • A demo video showing the product working
  • An explanation of the agent architecture, tools, workflows, and evaluation method
  • Evidence of measurable results, improvements, or user validation
  • The names of every team member
AO Usage Is Mandatory

The project must be built using AO from the beginning of the hackathon through final submission.

The demo video must show:

  • How AO was used to build the project
  • The AO sessions involved in the build
  • The working end-to-end project
  • Any evaluation, debugging, or improvement process

Projects started before the hackathon or projects that do not demonstrate meaningful AO usage will be disqualified.

All team members must register individually. Submit only one Devpost project per team before Sunday, September 6 at 6:00 PM EDT.

Judging Criteria

  • AO Usage & Build Process (25%)
Effective end-to-end use of AO, including meaningful orchestration, clear evidence of AO sessions, and how AO improved the build process.
  • Technical Execution & Reliability (25%)
Quality of implementation, correctness, stability, tool use, exception handling, and evidence that the system works reliably.
  • Track Fit & Real-World Value (25%)
How directly the project satisfies its chosen track and solves a meaningful problem. Track 1 should show measurable gains; Track 2 should automate a real internal finance workflow, including exceptions and human review.
  • Demo & Usability (15%)
A clear 3–5 minute public demo video showing the project’s core workflow, ease of use, complete end-to-end experience, and the AO dashboard with the total number of sessions used during development.
  • Innovation (10%)
Originality of the agent architecture, workflow, product approach, or use of tools, and whether the project advances beyond a basic implementation.
